The Underwater Forest, a new documentary by Ben Raines produced by This is Alabama, details the discovery and exploration of an ancient cypress forest found sixty feet underwater in the Gulf of Mexico, due south of Gulf Shores, Alabama. The forest dates to an ice age more than 60,000 years ago, when sea levels were about 400 feet lower than they are today.

  • How 2 Nerds Found Most Valuable Treasure in US History!

Have you heard about how a couple of data nerds found a 131-year-old sunken treasure? It's a fascinating story of how Tommy Thompson and his neighbor Bob Evans found the most valuable sunken treasure in U.S. history. • Lost Treasure – The Confederate Treasury

One of the most enduring and bizarre mysteries of the American Civil War is the final fate of millions of dollars worth of silver from the Confederate treasury. As the Union began its final path to victory, Confederate treasurer George Trenholm liquidated the South’s assets, with some saying that he passed them off to a group called the Knights of the Golden Circle to hide until the South could rise again.
